Dhaka Metro Rail Time Schedule: On December 28, 2022, Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Hon. Sheikh Hasina, officially opened the country’s first Metrorail. Additionally, by shaking Sheikh Hasina’s hand, Bangladesh solidified its place on the list of developing nations.

In addition, the project is anticipated to produce social and economic benefits, including raising economic activity, producing jobs, and enhancing the standard of living for locals. By lowering road transportation-related noise and air pollution, the Dhaka Metro Rail project will also benefit the environment.

Dhaka Metro Rail Time Schedule

Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka is set to get a proposed metro system called Dhaka Metro Rail. The project’s goal is to reduce traffic congestion in the city by offering a fast, safe, and effective form of transportation. There are still planning stages to the project, and no dates for implementation have been established. However, here is the whole time schedule

Headway from Saturday to Thursday (Metro Rail Timetable)

10 minutes Headway from 07.10 am to 11.30 am. (Uttara North Metrorail Station to Motijheel Metrorail Station)

Two Metrorails will depart from Uttara Uttara Metrorail Station at 7.10am and 7.20am for Motijheel. Metrorail two will stop at all currently operational Metrorail stations. Both these metrorails can be traveled using MRT/Rapid Pass only.

At 11.40 am, 11.50 am, 12.00 pm and 12.12 pm 4 additional metrorails will depart from Motijheel Metrorail Station and stop at Bangladesh Secretariat, Farmgate and each subsequent metrorail station till Uttara North Metrorail Station. .

It should be noted that passengers can travel on these four Metrorails from Motijheel, Bangladesh Secretariat and Farmgate Metrorail stations only with MRT Pass/Rapid Pass or Single Journey Ticket purchased before 11.30 am on the day of travel. Single Journey Ticket cannot be purchased from these three stations after 11.30 am.

Uttara North Metrorail Station to Agargaon Metrorail Station

Off Peak Hour Headway 12 minutes from 11.31 am to 04.00 pm; And from 04.01 PM to 08.00 PM the Headway of Peak Hour is 10 minutes.

02 (two) Metrorails depart from Agargaon Metrorail Station at 8.15 PM and 8.30 PM and continue to Uttara Uttar Metrorail Station stopping at each Metrorail Station.

Note that only passengers with MRT Pass/Rapid Pass and Single Journey Ticket purchased before 7.45pm on the day of travel can travel on these two Metrorails. After 7.45 PM all ticketing offices and ticketing machines are closed.

When to Buy MRT Pass?

From 07.15 AM to 08.00 PM from all metro rail stations from Uttara North to Agargaon; And MRT Pass can be purchased from Motijheel, Bangladesh Secretariat and Farmgate Metrorail Station from 07.15 am to 5.00 pm. MRT Pass can be purchased from any metro rail station by collecting the MRT Pass registration form from www.dmtcl.gov.bd or from the metro rail station and filling it properly.

The registered cardholder will need to pay a deposit to obtain a new MRT Pass in the event that the original is lost or damaged. The unused portion in this instance will be automatically applied to the new MRT Pass. Notifying the TOM operator at the closest station will stop any unauthorized use of the registered card in the event that the MRT Pass is lost.

When is the weekly off?

Metrorail’s weekly closure is Friday, so you should avoid booking tickets on this day.
